         পরিমাপ

                  উৎপল মণ্ডল 

চোখ বুজে দু হাত দু দিক 

পাখির ডানার মতো ছড়ালাম।

বললাম,

         তোমাকে অ্যত্তোটা ভালোবাসি—

সৌতিয়া হাসতে হাসতে বলল, 

'সোনা, এ্যামন বাড়াবাড়ি কিসের!

এতো দ্যাখোনদারির দরকার নেই।

হাত দুটোকে  আরও ছোটো, 

                          না... না... 

                  আরও 

                    আরও 

                       আরও 

                          ছোট্ট করো... 

এবার চোখ খোলো‌।'

দেখি, 

   আমার দু হাতের ভিতরে সৌতিয়া।

মিঠে হাসির পরশ বুলিয়ে বলল,

"দুহাতে আগলে রাখার মতো ভালোবেসো, 

    যেভাবে মানুষ দুহাতে 

            পৃথিবীকে মুক্ত অথচ যত্নে রাখে।"

                  Measurement

                                    UTPAL MANDAL 

 Eyes closed, both hands on both sides

 I spread like a bird's wings.

 I said

          love you so much

 Sautia said with a smile.

 'Sona, why such exaggeration!

 No need to show so much.

 Make your hands smaller.

                           no... no...

                   More

                     More

                        More

                           make small...

 Now open your eyes.'

 see

    Sautia inside my hands.

 With a sweet smile she said,

 "Love like holding hands,

     Like people with two hands

      Keeps the world free yet caring."
